About the Role 
The APCO Sales Consultant’s primary responsibility is to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, account penetration, and market share by effectively representing and selling APCO’s full portfolio of solutions under the One APCO framework. This includes training, membership, IntelliComm software, and professional services supporting Emergency Medical Dispatch, Law Enforcement Communications, Fire Service Communications, and broader Emergency Communications Center (ECC) operations.
 
This position serves as a consultative subject matter expert (SME) in public safety communications and ECC operations, specializing in identifying customer needs and delivering integrated solutions that improve performance, training outcomes, and operational effectiveness. The APCO Sales Consultant positions APCO as a trusted partner by developing new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and building long-term strategic relationships across the full customer lifecycle.

  • Lead sales within new and existing customer accounts 
  • Proactively communicate with prospective customers via phone, in person, and electronic channels 
  • Position and cross-sell APCO’s full suite of offerings, including training, membership, IntelliComm, and professional services 
  • Perform and/or coordinate solution-based demonstrations tailored to customer needs 
  • Attend regional and national trade shows as approved 
  • Use Salesforce to maintain accurate CRM records, including opportunity tracking, forecasting, pipeline management, and account activity 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent sales experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in consultative or solution-based sales, preferably within public safety, government, or technology sectors 
  • Experience selling multi-product or service portfolios (e.g., software, training, and services) preferred 
  • Knowledge of Public Safety Communications Systems, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), preferred 
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
